Abstract: According to the risk-averse characteristic of the supplier in the relief supply chain, this study intro-duces an option contract into the supply chain system with one government and a risk-averse supplier. The model of joint relief supplies reserves by the government and a risk-averse supplier is established based on an option contract. The optimal decisions of the government and the supplier are derived. We analyze the effects of the supplier's risk aversion and option parameters on the decision strategies of thegovernment and the supplier and their cost and profit. The range of option price is obtained by a numerical example. The paper also broadens the model and studies the influences of spot market and the government' s mandatory requirement on the joint relief supplies reserves model. Several important managerial implications areobtained, which strengthen government-enterprise cooperation, and provide operation strategies and rules for relief supplies reserv essocialization.
